Could golf ball technology be utilized for cars, aircraft, boats etc?
Early solid golf were smooth and circular. Then it was noticed that scratched and pitted travelled straighter and further and were less affected by weather conditions. This led to golf 'dimple' technology which has alllowed golf to travel further and straighter. Could this technology be applied to trains, boats, planes and road vehicles in order to lower fuel consumption and cut costs? Perhaps not, because a golf ball starts to spin immediately after being hit by a golf club. However, it would be nice to have a definitive answer.
