My apple mighty mouse( not cordless) makes this annoying continous clicking noice even when i am not clicking

even when i just take my hand over it it starts clicking repeatedly, if i leave it alone its fine. but the moment i start touching it it starts ticking ... does anyone know why this happens, i even cleaned it but still it wont stop.
